Good aye fellas, ive been readn the forum for a while and only subscribed a while ago. Im a cabby and been involved with the brand for years but need some advice. How can i make my EL XR8 roar, and I mean roar like the old XE 351's or even the EB/ED range.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Aussie Pete, Laminge, Grunter,XR9UTE and probably XR8Chic are the best qualified to answer. Look at some of the old threads in The Garage for some info for starters.

Hmmmm good question.. If you want grunt , well there really aint no way of doing it without new heads.. But if you just want a growl go for a twin or single exhaust system with extractors... Everyone here has their own opinions on twins & singles, I personally run Genie ext, & a full 3" system custom made & for me does the trick.....

thanks for the advice, good to talk to people who know there fords. I'll check the option out and tell you how it goes

My next door neighbor has a EF XR8, and it sounds so much like my old XD 351, it Is scary. He has a single 2 ¾ system with a Lukey muffler and extractors.

Or, just flatten it, it will roar!!!

how much in way of performance can i expect out of a EL XR8? i mean on a relatively moderate budget. As it is stock im havin fun wit it but occassionally run out of legs at high revs and through 4th and 5th.

Easy.. do what I did with my EL2XR8 :s6:

Full dual system, decent mufflers (I use Lukey) in the right position, a small length of larger diameter pipe at the exit of each muffler, and no resonators (no I don't suffer ANY drone either). Hear it growl!

I recently did some exhaust mods and I have been getting a lot of people commenting on the sound of my car.

I used to have a full genie system (stainless extractors, and 2.5" mandrel bent single system)

Now I have jet hot coated big bore pacemakers, supercats and the genie 2.5" mandrel bent SS system.
