Yes folks, another fine example of journalism in our papers. Hey, at least its free publicity for Ford. Was the writer attempting to instill outrage in the reader/taxpayer by listing the cost of the Territory and its options? Why not mention that the Barra engine passes Euro4 emission standards? Why even write these damn articles at all ?
I'm suprised they didn't throw speeding in there too.
"The Ford Territory can reach speeds of blah blah blah, therefore endangering your kids who don't know how to look both ways before crossing the road blah blah blah"

so they are complianing about the cost as well.....whats a brand new LTD or Caprice fully optioned equal?....a damn lot more than a Territory. gas guzzling is just a laugh as well

The writer (is that the correct term?) would be better highlighting the lower duty rate that 4WDs are imported under versus passenger vehicles.

And lets not forget all government cars are purchased tax free, so when they're sold at market value after 40,000kms the government usually make a profit.

Yes I burst out laughing at 13.5l/100km. Got a few odd looks from the rest in the work lunchroom.

The Territory AWD model guzzles 13.5 litres of petrol for every 100km on the highway, while the RWD uses 13.1 litres. By comparison, a Mitsubishi Lancer automatic sedan uses just 5.4.
Whoever wrote that needs to be fired and then receive
A Lancer may use 5.4/100km but look at the difference in vehicles. Lancer = small FWD car with small gutless 4cyl engine. Territory = large vehicle with 4.0litre 182kW i6. Now compare the Territory's 13.5/100km with its competitiors, maybe the Toyota Prado's 18/100km, and guess what, its a 4.0 V6. Territory gets excellent economy for what it is, and the person who wrote that needs to be slapped.

A lancer using 5.4L/100km? mmmm doubtfull....thats the territory (no pun intended) of hybrid electric/petrol cars.
