Heroin

Harry, Hammer, Smack whatever you want to call it. In ACT at the moment they are trying to get a Heroin trial going, not sure of the full detail but I think they want it available on prescription to registered addicts, like Methadone is at the moment. I was just wondering what FF members thought about this. I hope none of you are stupid enough to using it.

git me gun

Regulary dealing with druged out scum makes me think that there is no way a trial / helping people use it or in any way making things easy users is a good thing.

It ruins people , lives , family everything. More importantly it costs us FORDS that get stolen by drugged out twats.

Dob in a druggie. Hell even dob em into me I will take care of it for you.

I guess it has some merit if it means addicts no longer need to steal cars or break into homes to help finance their drug addiction. I gather they would also get assistance to help them kick the habit.

I usually get caned for having this view but it all comes down to whether you view the addict as a victim or a criminal.

This will have all the emotion of the (trial) shooting rooms open in Sydney and I can see both points of views. But heh, I don't use and I hope none of my family or friends ever do. So to me this helps reduce crime (theft, prostitution) aimed at financing drugs and gets the addicts (and their potentially AIDS infected syringes) off the streets/parks/beaches where they could harm my kids.

How do we pay for trail then? How do we support the users who will not be workign when they use?
How do they live while they are encouraged to keep using? By the same way as always.
Trials dont reduce the price they pay etc so they still do the rest of us over.

Personally I can't imagine why anyone would want to use such a destructive drug. But considering all the pain and heartache that using this crap causes, for both the user, the users family and friends and not to mention Joe Public who has to [a] pay for this through taxes, and [b] pay for this through users flogging stuff (been on the end of that one), I cannot see how by making it acceptable to use, makes it better?

Treat the problem, don't try and cover it up with bandaid type solutions. Typical government crapola as always.

well, we live in a nanny / police state, to the answer of where the drugs are going to come from, use the confiscated smack, and purify it a bit to get all the rat poison and other toxic cutting agents used in the drug.

I doubt the druggies actually enjoy lifting our stuff, knowing they'll cop the beating of their life if theyre caught by us, or they'll get caught by the cops (they tend to be disowned by their dealers if their dealers know theyve under police custody). So, knowing they'll be gettting free smack (or PBS dope, $3.50 for those with health care cards), it'll be worth it to them to sign up as a registered addict, get the free, pure dope, and if the pollies have any nouse, they'll convince them to kick the habit too, so we can have more workers to fill in pot-holes, repair broken park seats etc (aint karma something eh?)

Hmm interesting but....

that way we confiscate the smack at the cost of running the legal system then give it back to them subsidised??

Why not just put some more exotic poisons into it , warn them all that the drug supply has been poisoned and if they do not give up in a few weeks they will die.......then flood the market with bad drugs.

Ok sorry I am very passionate about this. Will go have cuppa now.

Thumbs up

They way we are handling it now doesn't work, so why not give a controlled legalisation a go. This should remove the stigma of seeking help & also allow us to raise taxes from the scum bags profiteering in human misery!
