Could some body please tell us what the hell we have done to xr805.As far as i can work out this guy bought his xr in to be tuned and we found that it had a faulty maf.we gave him a price on a new unit at a reduced price.Even tryed the new unit on his car to check that it was definatly the problem which it was.So what is the problem.Please if anybody has a problem with somthing that we have done talk to us ,we are only to happy to listen and solve the probem.

Rob, according to XR805 the part you claimed was faulty was, as reported to him by 'other sources within the Ford camp', not capable of failing, rather it merely malfunctions and needs a clean.

He didn't mention that part was a MAF, so sounds like he's been fed some misinformation and feels he been taken advantage of.

Sorry I have never seen anything bad being mentioned about you on this forum before. Once Ive got stuck into the House payments a little more I would'nt mind getting a quote on that stroker with 8 throttle bodies fitted to my XF if I cant sell it. (IF YOU WILL BUILD IT). Was planning on an XR8, but I'll be waitin another two years or so. SO ILL KEEP DREAMING FOR NOW.

From what i read it was as Venom described and a little bit about how you are ripping folks off. We felt that the thread got a tad outta hand and a bit slanderous so we had removed it for that reason.

I am not sure as to what or where he took to get the other opinions as to what was wrong. That was never discussed. Just stated that he was told it was just a cleaning needed by Ford mechanics and supervisors.

As always we are happy to host compliments and complaints as long as the complaints are more than just slamming the person, company or vehicle.

Hopefully this canbe resolved.

Having read that particular thread from begining to end,
Venom XR has it exactly right. All that was mentioned was a "part" that you claimed was faulty yet others claimed it couldn't fail.

There was no mention of what the problem was or that you had tested it or sold it to him at a reduced price.

Who ever the people are that told xr805 that these parts do not fail are very wrong .We repair and modify only late model FORDS ,we see more problems than most dealers.This is a very common problem that is overlooked by most mechanics because they do not look for this problem in normal tuning .We are aware of this problem so we therfore always check the MAF ON NORMAL DYNO TUNING. THAT IS WHY WE ARE WHAT WE ARE.

Any chance you could advise what can go wrong with the MAF and what would the symptoms of a bad MAF be?

A common aim in the thread Rob was that he didnt tell us what the part was, didnt come back to you, prob went to a ford dealer that know squat and let rip on this forum.

But was also good to see the number of people that stood behind your work.

Good on you Rob that you replied. The previous thread I thought something went so wrong and again the removal and editing the thread made me so sure that you got something to hide!which is apparently not true.

That reminds me , if I dare to ask the moderators of the forum not to rush to modify or edit replies that quick, as it only made things worse for Herrod Motor Sport. Unless of course the thread had personal details or bad language,etc.
