High speed trips!!!have you heard of any legendary trips?lol :-)
Nothing beats dessert highways for safe speeding i wreckon!
Normally you can see 20km ahead, maybe theres one car every 20min to 30 min, and u slow down when you see one. No worries!!
You know the Rd up to Darwin, how its not limited. We get that cool sign for that, the circle with the diagnoal line thru it! means no restriction!! Well ive seen that in some SA country roads too. Does this mean the same thing?
Ive heard of trips from Melbourne to Adelaide in 5 hours flat, back in the 70's. A good freind of mine had bought auctioned off cop cars back then, like valiant v8s, xb 351's, xd 351 s etc, just for this high speed cruising. At around 180kmh the whole way you get 5 hours flat apparently.lol! couldnt do that these days!! Hed even do that all the way to Perth! average 180 the whole way!! Good stuff i wreckon!!
Another old freind did 5 hours 20 from geelong to Adelaide in a 250 cortina!!lol! thats impressive too! that was back in the late 70s too. I shouldnt really say :-) but ive done it in 7 hours from geelong, slowing down to 60 or whatever for towns, and thats lose your licence territory the nearly the whole way!(about 130 to 140) Ive done it in 6 hours flat but thats my best. And you dont wanna know how fast (just cruisy fast, not too fast) you have to drive to do that!(but still slowing to 60 for the towns!)
I was lookin at the map the other night, the Nullabor is such a huge road! The longest straight stretch of road in Aust is there, sth like 130km!! How annoying would it be being picked up for speeding doing say 120km/h there!! Id just laugh in the cops face and keep going! :-)
Wonder what the record is from Adelaide to Perth!! you could sit on 300 the whole way!
I rememeber in Motor they had a Porsche Turbo doing 305 or so to darwin! thats pretty fast!!
Has anyone heard of good times to Sydney? eg stories from their dads etc?!lol!
Its interesting i wreckon.
Bring em on!!

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.'So that was nice.
Melton to Punt Rd, Richmond in 15mins. A normal trip would take about 45mins on a good day.
This included stopping to change a fuse for the radio.
Top speed 200km/h then it started starving for fuel.
Car: 302 powered XC.
Fairly stupid looking back now, but s*#t it was fun.

RAPID BA MKII GT WITH BLACK STRIPES
OK, my trip was from Narrandera, (100ks west of Wagga), through Newcastle, to Mareeba, (65ks west of Cairns). Left Narrandera 1am Tuesday and arrived in Mareeba at 10pm Wednesday.
I had to pick my Brother up in Newcastle, which took about 1 hour, went through peak hour traffic in Sydney. We had 4 drivers, and only stopped for fuel and food.
Car – My old XD Fairmont Ghia, 351 on gas. Averaged 120ks all the way, and didn’t see one cop.
*Little Story*
Driving down the highway at about 2 in the afternoon, a ricer Lancer rounded me up at 120ks. So I sat on his tail to 160. I went to pass him, and sat next to him through to about 180, waved at him, and then left him for dead.
Smoke em if you got them!
Well back when I was a "young'n" in West Oz...
Newman to Perth 1100k trip in just over 7 3/4hrs averaging about 150 160 k/hr.... All this for a rush job to Perth for "HJ's" for the boys at work.........
