History of Ford in Australia

I'm a newbie in the Ford Forum. I've been lurking a bit.

We have an Australian retail Internet site as well as a US retail Internet site.

We are in the process of writing an article for our Aussie retail site http://www.mooses.com.au, about the history and evolution of the car industry in Australia.

We are trying to source information about what happened, in Ford vehicles from when the Ford Motor Company of Australia was established in 1925 to 1955 when the Ford Falcon was produced.

I have information on the Model T and Model A, but I'm not sure what happened after the Model A to the period when the Ford Falcon was introduced.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks John.

I have a book called Aussie Cars, which has a pretty good history of the automobile industry in Australia, but it has a big gap in the Ford years from the late 20's to the mid 50's.

Cheers

Mooses
On their 75th anniversary in Australia (in 2000) Ford Australia published a book titled
"True Blue - 75 years of Ford in Australia"
Book was published by Focus Publishing (02) 9327 4777
Not sure if you'll find it in a library, but might be available from Ford Discovery Centre.

Mooses, there is a good book called A History of the Ford Motor Company In Australia by Geoff Easdown - Golden Press
ISBN - 073 020112 0 for clothbound
073 020113 9 for paperback.

Covers right from the begining, First Geelong plant, war production, Broadmeadows, the shady period where Holden got the go ahead to build Australias car.

I think its out of print now, but just checked on amazon.com and one is available second hand.

True Blue - 75 years of Ford in Australia is really good. I gave it to my dad for his birthday on year (although pretty much as soon as he unwrapped it i was like "can i borrow it? lol) Highly recommended. I am also pretty sure there are a couple of DVDs/Videos around. Anyone know about them??

Mooses - may I suggest that you get in touch with the Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong. They'll be more then happy to answer any of your questions & more. I know that they sometimes browse around here on fordforums also.
Try giving them a phonecall & see how you go.....
best of luck with the site...
