Arggh

Of all games to stuff up!

Anyone had problems starting HL2

Mine gets to starting game, reads the Cd and just stops, no errors or anything!

Im having issues starting mine too. But seeing as i finished it yesterday, its no big deal .

Can someone please explain to me how the f**k you get it into offline mode though?! Im sick of having to go online just to start the game, and if ive got it right, you should be able to set it to start the game without having to go online. How the hell do you do it?!

Been playing it fine, and was upto the part where you had to keep out of the sand otherwise those god damm bugs kepts popping out!

Steam opens, it starts that ok, then says starting game, the cd spins a couple of times, and the nothing!

Fist of Fury time is lurking!!!!

Only thing today was some stupid notice of updates and other games!

Ive heard the game needs HEAPS as in tens of updates just to run ok.

1st nite I played it till I was ill!

Need a decent PC though and Video Card.. but this has me stumped, and the stupid web site in reagrds to Help... arrrgghh!

yep its full of bugs,the buggiest game i have ever played, i get heaps of stuttering during gamplay as does thousands of others. 6 years in the making ptt, valve should be ashamed of themselves. I put up with it and finished the game though.

Hey Laminge,

if you use the gravity gun on the antlions (things in the sand), you can really bust em quick and save your ammo. Just a tip in case you didnt already know it .

I would have to say that this is one of the nicest games I have played. Completely bug free, up until my HDD **** itself (unrelated, hoping to get my HL2 saves off before I format)
The graphics look great, the Source engine is now my favourite, cause everything looks great, and runs well. The day of my last exam (after it was over) I stayed up all night playing HL2 and Q3A LANning with 2 of my mates. Brilliant, brilliant game.
Also, in that antlion bit, just use the grav gun to move stuff in order to make a pathway for yourself. If you're really desperate, jump in the water and they'll drown, but you have to get out without touching the sand (even if you're in the water, standing on the sand)
