Ford has patented a carbon dioxide detector to fit inside a car's boot.
It can sense if a child or even kidnap victim is trapped inside by monitoring for high CO2 levels caused by human breathing, and then automatically open the boot. Meanwhile, the firm has signed a deal to sell its first fuel cell cars by 2004.

I cant beleive they are developing things like that that may only be needed once every ten years and they arent selling Fairlanes and LTDs because they lack new technoligies like Xenon headlamps,side airbags and a tracking system like on the Statesmans.
