OK, While I was away, I went to a holden dealer to see what there tactics where., and what sort of shit they where telling customers.
I was disgusted, but what can you expect from a holden dealer?
I told him I was interested in the XR8 or the SS.
He said dont compare the two, the XR8 is shit..
He also told me the following points:
*Dont be confused by the XR8 being only 5kw away from the SS... Power isnt just about kilowatts..... The SS has so much more power than the XR8...
*THe SS handles so much better than the XR8
*The commodore is a much safer car than the falcon.. I would be do scared to drive a falcon they are so unsafe. Holden has invested big money in saftey, whereas ford just give you gimmicks like CD player and power windows instead of saftey features.
*Ford dealers are giving them away at big discounts, because they cant sell any. We cant get enough SS's so I cant give you a discount
*The SS looks so much better than the XR8.
*Holdens win races, Ford couldnt win one if they tried.
etc etc.. Makes me sick to hear some of the shit these dealers are spinnning to their customers.
And Ford wonder why they don't sell enough cars. The Ford dealer network try their best to stop you buying a Falcon with their dissinterest, while the Holden dealers spin BS like this. If you were Joe Public, which would you buy?
Dosen't supprise what he said. I really think that some dealers do themselves harm by bagging the opposition. If they just shut their mouths and try to help they would sell more cars.

I know a guy who recently bought a Maloo and they were telling him the same stuff. He found it hard to believe me when I said that Falcon utes are outselling Commodores. This guy is no impressionable teenager, he's forty something, has his own auto workshop/small dealership.

If an inbred Holden selling hick tried to pull that shit on me, I'd whip out the Motor mag comparos and set the piece of shit straight. Oh, that's if he could read.

I'd take the prick for a drive in a XR8.. That'd shut his trap quick smart.

I believe it was Ford that was first having the side intrusion bars in the doors(EF).
Dual airbags as standard well before Holden.
NRMA crash tests of every Falcon has beaten Commodore.
Wasn't it Holden that made such a big fuss over the standard trip computer in the VT?
That dealer is not scared of driving a Falcon because it is unsafe, He's scared he might find out that the Falcon is a great car.
What a load of BS, i have heard there are some arsehole dealers out there, but I wouldn't imagine them being that bad. I wonder how many people believed this pricks lies :dead: :crazy1:
