Holden to delay VY Commodore launch - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I spoke to a friend on the weekend who knows someone inside Holden and mentioned that the VY Commodore is definately going to be delayed until early 2003.

The cause seems to be a problem with their V6 engines. They are apparently trying to squeeze some extra power out of them so as not to look "outgunned" as opposed to Ford's rumoured 170kw+ engine.

Can anyone else out there verify this?

The delay should help the Falcon win even more sale unless Holden release details before the cars launch.

maybe holden viewed the falcon before us the keen and avid falcon admirers and need to make adjustments to counter the best falcon yet !!! :)

Holden can do what they want to that "piece" of a V6 they have.
They will never get the torque of the Ford I6.

They may be able to get power but i doubt that it will be smooth like a Falcon or have as much torque
