Anybody else out there heard much about the worlwide recall of all cars with a gen 3 v8 in them? i have heard rumours from various sources that they have excessive oil use (1-5lt per 10,000km's) leading to dealers offereing free oil top up's to combat the problem. This has led to a maybe (?) recall of all cars to remove the engine and fix the prob, instead of spending more money on oil to all customers. Price rumoured to be at $6 billion..anyone else heard?

wooohoooo! 6 billions bux????I guess it's better for Holden just to do what it does best and keep IGNORING, untill the warranty ends.

Has Holden considered other sources of oil meanwhile??maybe Canola oil or Olive oil may solve the problem? I'm just trying to help here.lol

If they do recall them I doubt holden will till they locally build the engine as they have been reportedly working on the engine to iron all the issues out of it when they start local manufacture.

Having said that I doubt there will be a recall anyway.

Considering that there are only about 100,000 of them sold per year worlwide, I can't see any recall costing $6b ...

I dont have ants but I do have bloody big spiders.

BTW, that sort of recall (oil consumption) will never happen especially by GM.
