Never fear .. CAPA is coming out with a special release Vortech 4 blower unit, consisting of a GE hairdryer and 12V adaptor. Installation is relatively simple :
(1) Mount hairdryer securely
(2) Ensure warm air from hairdryer is blowing directly onto the rat
(3) Plug in special 12V adaptor to cigarette lighter
(4) FEEEEEEL the power!!!!

It has been rumoured that some guys have been running their blowers on "HI" setting reliably for extended periods! However, it was confirmed that they were running a custom "D-cell" intercooler, pictured below :


It is said that on "HI" with the intercooler, this arrangement is good for an extra 45% rat power...

hmmmmm....
and if we times that by 1.34 to get Horse power we get 1.943, so we'd only be down by 1 Horse power. Is it possible to fit a 3 speed GE hairdryer for extra boost? Perhaps a water spray setup to increase the cooling power of the intercooler?

I heard a rumour that HSV are doing a sequential rat system, utilising a small, female rat for low down torque, and a bigger, male rat for high end stuff. There are some bugs to be ironed out though, the 2nd rat tends to kick in before the first does, causing all sorts of problems. These problems have caused a massive stockpile of smaller rats suitable for the Astra. :D
