Hey all. I've been wondering, which of the cars with Holden badges are actually made by Holden? It's obvious that the commy is made here, well most of it. But what else? I know the Vectra and Suburban are definitely not Holdens, what about the rest? If anyone knows where they are all made and what company are did they originate from that would be good. Is the Jackaroo aussie?
Also, what parts of the Commonwhore are not Holden? The gearbox as far as I know is US, and the LS1 of course, what else?

As far as I know, Crappodore is based on the Opel Omega platform also inheiriting its crap IRS. It will soon be based on the Caddy CTS platform which is a LOT better. Could actually match Falcon for drivability (hope not though !). Vectra, Astra, Barina, Frontera are made by Opel in Germany, just shipped here and have Holden badges whacked on. The Jackaroo and Rodeo are rebadged Isuzus.
I apologise if it has, but I haven't read about it. I'm just curious, not trying to criticise or use this as a way of bashing Holden. Just making that clear.
So what is being said is that Holden aren't all that good at making their own cars but they are damn good at rebadging other manufacturers cars and then outselling the donor cars, (at an inflated price) One of the guys from work bought a Suziki Ignus, a.k.a. Holden Cruze, Suziki do more models and they're cheaper. . . . but they lack the all inportant Holden badge.
