i have to give it to you guys i dont even work in IT but because i know a bit about computers i have to put up with everyone asking me to fix this and fix that after they have been playing with stuff they shouldnt have its really getting annoying i,ve been in the worst mood the last couple of days fixing shit which other ppl have stuffed on there pc's

My mate fixes his mum and dads pc every week without fail. He will fix it and then 3 days later and its not working and both his parents swear that they didnt do anything to it. What a pain in the @ss!

Whats cool about my IT job... I use Sun Solaris and UltraSPARC architecture at SAN storage at work and for my work from home. As well as my laptop is an Apple Powerbook G4 with Mac OS X. I haven't touched an x86 PC for some 3 years, well not running Windows anyway. Windows XP? whats the different between home and professional? *pfft* don't know, don't care.

Best part of this is I don't get asked to do family favours, and most of the time, I don't even use a computer at home (this is a rare opportunity).

Last two weeks I worked 92 hours over time... hmm average of 85 hours work over two weeks, shesh I get tired and can't be bothered with computers when I get home.

I have copped it since I was a little tacker punching keys on the home PC. My relo's were always impressed, so I copped it all. My parents are the worst offenders of stuffing a computer (or forgetting how to do something) and then I cop the blame and have to "fix it"!!

one good thing about being fairly good with computers as it has gone into my job and they are going to pay for me to do an advanced robotics coarse which playing around with the robotic welder at work is somthing i like doing and thats about the only thing that doesnt bother me when i have to fix it

Start asking for money, that'll stop em. :)

Either that or give bad advice and tell them they should upgrade to a newer, expensive system, and dont go easy, make it sound really expensive.

I am not in it but build them for fun..Ihave 4 computers...and knock on wood they have been great for a while...But no one hassles me which is marvellous...
