I know this is a FOrd Forum, but while reading the latest MOTOR, there was a interesting little snippet in there about HSV.
The question put was, since HSV started operations in 1988, how many different models have they produced. This is not obtained by seperating autos or manuals, nor sedans and wagons.

Anyone care to make a guess?

Ok, an off-the-top-of-the-head list; and I’m sure I must have missed some:

SV88 VL?
SV89 VN V8
SV90 VQ?
SV91 VQ Statesman
SV5000 (VN)
Clubsport - since VN = 13
Senator - since VP = 12
Clubsport R8 - since VT2 = 5
Senator Signature – VT-VT2?
Senator 5000 (200kW) - VP
Manta – VR-VR2?
GTS – since VP but not VP2 = 11 (or perhaps not VR series 1, then 10)
GTS-R – VS?
Maloo – since VG = 12
Maloo R8 – since VT2 = 5

That lot comes to 68 models, including Series 1 & series 2 models separately. Now, what have I missed?

Sorry I must have been thinking of the Commodore Car Company!

- Was the Astra (~1990) the SV1800?
- HSV Jackaroo
- SV3800 VN
- XU6 VT – 1 model unless it carried into VT2, or VX?

Now we’re up to 72… (edit: cars only!)

Not sure about the Calibra, unless perhaps the Turbo 4x4 model was sold as an HSV (don't think so though)
Also I think there was a limited edition "+8" of VN/VP vintage which was an SS with something like a spoiler lip & 185kW engine
Was there an XU8 as a base model at some stage? VT?

Perhaps someone associated with the LS1 forum might have more of an idea!
