I can do just about anything to a car.
Do I want to? NO!
If it involves bastardry aka gearbox/diff lifting then it's straight to the mechanic.
Anything else is my domain.
This only really applies to Falcons/Telstars/Lasers/Any old Ford
I don't know enough about other cars to comment but if I ever see the above in trouble I'll always pull over and lend a hand

I wish I had more knowledge, and I am learning more about my car and cars in general.
I advise anyone wanting "hands on" experience to buy an EA. So many things have gone wrong, but if they didn't I wouldn't have learnt half the stuff I know now. Examples are having a slight "off" in a car park and needing most of the right front end replaced. The Head Gasket..what more can I say, new gearbox. The list goes on.
On another note, Im doing Mech Engineering at uni and I haven't learned sqwat yet. Its all physics, Computer programming (because im going to use that!!...NOT!!) and CAD stuff. It would want to get better pretty quickly.

I want to be able to do everything to my car because it will be cheaper when say I pull off the heads and chuck some new alloys on. In reality I can't and I could try but I have a tendency to break anything I try to do myself, but have no knowledge on.
I think I need a 'mentor' to teach me the ways of getting along with just a wrench and beer. It's about all I have at the moment anyway...
Give me enough time I can do most things. Sorta had to on the farm since my boss will pick up a spanner and sorta stand there not knowing what to do with it.
