I wonder what performance oriented people cruise at on good safe country roads and highways?

My speedo is quite out, 130 is 120, so my speedo sits on 120(a real 110) when i'm a bit scared, otherwise I mainly,....well on the Geelong freeway (100 zone)I always sit on 135 (which i'd say is 125). I seem to pass absolutely everyone pretty quickly. It never used to be this way. In Vic, everyones scared, and we have trucks (doing maybe 102)passing cars all the time. I've been passed maybe twice in hundreds of trips on this road over the past year, never been caught, as you can see so far ahead (often 5 or more km, so why not pump it!).

Here is a poll, how far over or under the limit is your cruise speed?

i generally sit about 10 over the limit, when theres no traffic, and if theres traffic ill slow to the limit.

Look I'll be brutally honest and say that i quite often go a speed that I feel is safe - not what the sign says. Of course in town I am religious when it comes to sticking to the speed limit - a runin with a small boy who ran in front of me makes sure of that (thank god i didnt hit him but it was a VERY close margin, too close for comfort).

More often than not i am over the posted limit out of town though, and that is all i will say.

What I feel safe with.

If the road is open and there's no one around I'll open her right up. If there are cars I'll stick to what the're doing.

i own an eski, so going over 100 aint all that big in my books lol, not fun when shes revving at 4000rpm at 100km/h, in me ea when i had her........whateva felt safe

Normal freeway I will sit on about 110-115km/h in the right lane. On the way to QLD in the open and bare highways with hundreds of kilometres of straigh bitumen in front of me, I would sit on anywhere from 110-135km/h.

I refuse to speed in residential areas (except late at night/early morning when no one is about).

I adjust my speed to the road conditions... sometimes I'm 30 km/h over, and sometimes I'm 20 km/h under the limit... and i still feel safe

Depends on the road, if it was just the freeway I still sit on around 110... if it was on the way to Warrnambool on the back roads, 140-150

Well considering i lost my licence a couple of months ago for 139 in a 110 zone i genreally dont sit too far over the limit at all anymore. I generally sit maybe 5 kays over on the fwy's etc but back roads ill open her up a bit.

Usually about 5 over out on the open road.
Around town is spot on or under, depends on population content at the time.
