We put our mercedes in the paper to sell this weekend, so i have a new exhaust fitted new rear brakes, fully detailed spent almost 3k doing all that and my wife was driving it to a meeting today and we had buyers waiting for her to return, I get a call from a man saying * ur wife was hit and the car is totalled*, first i couldnt give a rats a55 about the car, just get her to hospital, as she was in shock and was telln the man she had to get the car home... well when i got there the car was pushed hard from behind and slammed under a 4x4, completly crumbled and air bags didnt go off, hit was higher than bumper, So it looks like the new owner of our car was some poor young idiot that ran a red light ., My wife is ok , just shaken up. lucky the 2 kids were with me. funny how nice a tow truck driver cam be when u are in these situations, thanks ready towing and keep your hands off my 19" wheels LOL
I went through this last year when my wife had a head-on and wrote the EL Fairmont off. She was fine (bruised and upset) and the car was... well, the biggest metallic navy blue banana you've ever seen. In times like those your daily pride and joy becomes so unimportant.
Glad to know your wife is okay and the kids were out of harms way.
(one of the reasons I won't let my missus by a compact car)
