The 96 model Ford Taurus was a very good car masked in dubious styling. Whilst we did not see the Taurus here in Australia, we did get a mixed version of Taurus and Sable features.
So, now looking at the current Ford Taurus it has the same door shape, side window profile etc. The Sable is even more changed.
Thing is, I don't half mind the look of the Sable/Taurus now.
I wonder how much Taurus/Sable there is in the influences on Barra??????????

Do you have any pics that you could post of the current Taurus I would be interested to see what it looks like because the one they sold over here was bloody ugly.
I could probably look for pics at Fords US website but i'm too lazy.

From what I've heard, the falcon will be alot squarer, with a more aggressive looking stance. I don't think it will look anything like the new taurus. I think it will look more like the new Mondeo, side panels etc.
Yeh it does look better than the ones we have over here, but I still don't really like the huge indent in the side of the doors and guards. To each his own I guess. Ford really went overboard with the "oval" styling everywhere.
I think that they were a good cars though for a front wheeler though weren't they? Does anyone have one or know of someone with one and what the cars are really like?
...Hey, at least they've got dual exhausts.:p
Russell.
These are pics of the new Audi A4 that has just been released. As soon as I saw the these pics, it reminded me of the sketches I posted of the supposed AV falcon (from wheels mag)
Yeah side by side like that the similiarities are more than the differences. The front end obviously differs, but apart from that and the roofline, things seem pretty close. I for one think that's not an entirely bad thing! If it is even close to this kind of design, it will be a winner. No doubt. :D

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
Yeah the Taurus was good car, and it should have been when Ford spent $2-3 Billion on it. The EF cost about $500million and Wheels said the Fairmont Ghia was a better car when they compared the 2. Just shows that us Aussies can do alot with very little
I also never thought it was ugly, just different
