HSV 6.2 at MMS

HSV will have its 6.2 on show at MMS to preview what is expected to be a future GTS engine. One Holden executive has been quoted as saying in Australian Muscle Car Magazine we are not putting this engine into production untill Ford builds a 300kw T Series. Its a nice engine to have up our sleeve.

Whilst i would never expect a T Series to compete with this i hope Fords new GTHO will be a match atleast. I am predicting it to be unveiled about then to take the shine of our new GT.

If anyones to blame for a power war then it has to be HSV. I know we all want more juice but lets get serious for a minute. 300 to 350kw is another big jump that is uneccessary. Lets hope the media stay away from this..

There is a rumor that GM may come out with a 7.0 option on the Corvette to play catchup with the viper

FM, don't think they're going to have the 6.2L for the running models like Clubsport and Senator.

By the same token i have to agree with Strife, modern cars although power is getting very high the weight of cars are increasing as well. My hope is ford have provisions for up to 350kw.

OK we all know that the "power war" may get out of hand, but Ford need to take thier thumbs out of thier bums and get over themselves and the political ramifications. If they want to build thier performance image and desirability, they MUST have an engine to match the 6.2. If Geoff reads this, may I suggest something in the vicinity of 380+kW from the new V8 in the GTHO. Maybe take it out to 5.6L and have 5 valves/cyl.
