In an article at drive.co.au (click here to view) it says Ford plans a "mid-size" hybrid Futura sedan for 2005. Mmmmm...interesting. Does "mid-size" mean scaled down version of Falcon as we know it or a completely different stand alone model?

dont know.. but ive had an idea for years.. that they should make the laser, a miniture version of the falcon.. same everything, just a smaller version.. i rekon it would look awesome!!
little sr2 laser, with same lights as xr falcons, (but smaller), same rear lights (but smaller), same body kit etc etc

same body shape, just heaps smaller!

This is the American market Futura based on the Mazda6 platform.

It has no relation what-so-ever to the Ausie Falcon model.

Falchoon your link takes me to an article on "Cleaner lines, and exhausts, on hybrid Prius and Civic".

I agree with JR. Most likely talking about the recently released details of a US Mazda6 based midsizer to be called Futura.

Artsist impressions looks pretty good don't you think. Notice the strong horizontal bars in the upper & lower grill as on the 427 Detroit concept car.

(nothing like the Mazda 6 which I also like)

There not bad those hybrids, I drove a Toyota Prius on the weekend. Pretty cool technology and I love that talking navigation
system. Where you're at the lights it's like the car isn't running, that's because the electric motor is running.

mmhm that Futura doesnt look all that bad... much better than the Taurus.. god that thing was shit... and to think at one stage that was to replace the Falcon... glad they got that out of their heads quickly *shakes head*
