I just got home, and when I went out the back, where my car is, I found the following had been done to my beloved Escort:

Two tyres let down
Petrol cap removed and hose stuck down into petrol tank
"F*CK YOU K" scratched into the paintwork

Also I jumped into the drivers seat and turned the key to accessories, and noticed that the petrol gauge only moved up to about 1/10th, when last night, when I last tried to start it (the battery is practically flat enough power to light the headlights and run the petrol gauge, but not enough to crack it over more then twice, *sigh*) there was 1/4 of a tank of fuel in it. Also, we have no idea if someone has put anything INTO the petrol tank - sugar, flour, whatever... So I don't want to try and start it, just in case...

Anybody know of any way of checking if anything has been added to the petrol tank?

I am more angry then I can express in words...

omg, Thats sooo nasty hope you catch the mungrals that did that. Can't stand people that do that to others.

Well that plain sucks.

If you are really worried about something in the tank then you can drop the tank and pour some petrol in slosh it around and pour it out again, but usually you can see trace evidence in the filler neck if they did pour something in.

Looks the writing might just about buff out at least.

That sucks BIG TIME (tm). I would be pulling the tank out and giving it a damn good clean and replacing the fuel hoses too just to be sure.

With petrol over a $1 litre , this will happen more often .I lost 2 80 tanks of fuel in Queanbeyan years ago 2 nights in a row.

Damn man that's really shitty, hope ya find the c#*ts and give them a taste af maddestman justice.(sorry dude) It's hard to get some peace of mind at nite after that sort of crap so take it easy man. You can replace the fuel, the hoses and the paint work, but ya can't replace the maddest man.

Mmm, rotten bastards, they dont have anything better to do with their lives than to invade other peoples private property. I would drain the fuel tank, which may require removing it (dont know if the eskies have drain plugs in the bottom) but will save you the hassle if it gets sucked into the carby, those scratches may polish out with some cutters, and your tyres you can pump up.
I find it hard to keep my emotions intact when it comes to pricks like these people, i used to beat shit out of first if i caught them, then hand them over to the cops, but i got off worst than them with the law. good luck either way :-)
