I have one of those weird problems, my EF has ants living in the roof! Yes the little black sugar type ants have decided to live in my roof, theyre not in my interior yet, but they got in behind the front door rubbers and there are hundreds of them in there!
Basicly, WHAT THE???
I used to have to park my poor old girl on the street in the city at night (talk about worrying about that car) and i would get sap crap drips all over her, which i think attracted the little bastards in the first place. But now she lives in a garage and theyre still there!
The question now is, HOW THE HELL DO I GET RID OF THEM???
And no thanks to surface spraying the car or using fly spray, isnt there a solution? Has anyone experianced this before???? They have been there for weeks!!!!
Can anyone please help me, anything to save the EF!!!
Thanks Everyone!!

I parked under a bush once at my mums years ago, and had the same problem, I just sprayed the car with Flyspray, then cleaned it out.
You may have to clean down all the door rubbers and surfaces to get rid of any trace of ant sent.
They may have been attracted to any dropped food etc in your car.
We get this problem at work ( wholesale car yard) usually the cars have been left for a while and the ants have gotten into them some how. Anyways what we do is pull the interior out. Especially in the EF's cause it is sooo easy to strip. Then just wipe the inside clean and give it a mist of fly spray. Then put it back together. Should only take a couple of hours.
You may need a torqx key to get the seats out though just check if they are normal bolts or Torqx bolts...
You can get those "Roach Bombs".. lock it up in the garage open all the doors and let them off.. Read the directions on the cans and then give it a nice detail (vacuum and wipe down) throw in some AmbiPoure (*sp) and she'll be a treat
What about Ant Rid,you can get it at supermarkets and it worked when I had them in the house.you will have to use it a couple of times though. If that does not work, why not trade up to a LTD.
I had a similar problem with my XD. Where i parked the car, there was an ant hole under the car. I hadn't driven the car for days & they crawled up into the car. They started laying eggs too, there were shit loads of the little bastards. I just sprayed fly spray everywhere i could and hoped for the best. Seemed to work.
I had singapore ants in my car in Kununurra, WA.
Those little bastards will eat through anything, luckily they only ate my foam under my horn out, so the damn horn went off every time i went around a corner.
But i've seen them eat thru leather, foam, plastic, and all sorts of things.
Crazy little bastards.
I got rid of them by parking in different place and going mad witht he fly spray.
Thanks for the reply, but there is no way in hell i am setting off a roach bomb in the car!!!!!! hahaha thats crazy!
I dont really want to use fly spray, i dont want to damage the paint or errod the rubber. The ants arent inside the car, theyre in the roof, ie between the shell and the interior ceiling, i guess im going to have to pull the rubber off, DAMN ANTS!!!!
Thanks for the suggestions, i just hope they dont turn on me and attack me while im driving or something, haha that would be funny!
Cheers
