I just have to say...

To all you people who keep flaming others for having tickford badges on their cars, I would like to advise you all to shut the hell up.

Not only is it someones own prerogative to do whatever they feel like to their car, and for someone else to bag it out, it is morally wrong. You must admit that if someone bagged out something on your car, be it WHATEVER, you would not appreciate it. I, for one, would be pretty pissed off if someone paid out on my car for something I did because I like it.

Let's take a look at reasoning:

XR's got given Tickford badges because they had Tickford things on them correct? Regardless the fact that the car is sent from Ford to Tickford for its final workings - the concept behind it is to show that it has Tickford components on the vehicle.

If someone has modified their car with the use of a Tickford component, be it a Tickford snorkel, Tickford wheels, Tickford bodykit, Tickford WHATEVER it then gives that person the right to display a Tickford badge on their car. It follows the same principle of why your XR came with Tickford badges on it.

To sidetrack a little, just to clear something up, the other side of the road, HSV badges on a Holden is a different story. No SS, No Berlina, no whatever is ever sent to HSV to have final workings before being sold to the public (as far as I know) - and never has a Holden been sold by Holden with a HSV badge on it. Thus being a different scenario than Fords (XR's) with Tickford badging.

Therefore, next time you decide to bag someone out for using Tickford badges, rethink your own insecurity, which I can see in some of the people who time and time again bag out the use of Tickford badges on a vehicle that apparantly "isnt" Tickford, even though said car makes use of Tickford components.

It is absolutely stupid and unnecessary that you bag someone out for doing this.

Those cars who make use of Tickford badges while not making use of any Tickford component, thus rendering the car completely "Tickfordless" should re-think their use of said badges, though if it is in your interest to use them, then go ahead, make the legacy of Tickford proud by showing everyone you remember them.

Yeh who really cares!!

I love seeing done up EFs / AUs wearing these badges providing they have had some work done to them.. Theres nothing better then seeing something that probarly started out not so glamerous look fantastic, PLENTY of the guys on these forums have done it and I say well done!

Do you also think however it fair enough to put FPV badges on a BA XR?? I do..

Personally, I dont mind if others put Tickford badges on non-Tickford cars. Their car, their choice.
However I do see the Tickford badge to be the same as a HSV badge in your example above. Basically, the Tickford badge come out on cars that were sent to Tickford to be modified, no different to HSV. What your example above says is that if you put a Tickford snorkle on a GLi then you can have Tickford badges. Fine, personal choice and good luck to them. However if this is the case than if someone puts HSV rims or a HSV gear knob on a Executive they must surely have HSV parts on the car and therefore have the right to display the HSV badges? No difference in my opinion.

Anyhow, either way, it just doesnt worry me. I have a Tickford car, I have the badges, and I wear them with pride. What others do or dont do is up to them. They have to drive their cars, they get to choose what they do to them.

Re: I just have to say...

*meh* as far as im concerned it's an exterior mod.

If that's the look people are going for then by all means whack a ticky badge or two on there. It's a good looking badge! I mean, it's not like someone trying to pass there car off as a GT. People dont look at the car and go "Wholly shit, its a tickford!!!!!". Let's face it - tickford wasnt doing anything that special.

If people need to flame others over badging, send em my way - im using a 'supercharged' badge from a commodore!!!!!

I meant it in the way that they dont offer HSV badging on cars like SS's etc.

I understant that however the priciple is exactly the same. I dont think that Tickford offered Tickford Badgine on GLi's or Fortes. I understand that the SS is a performance model but in the end, its the same principle. If you put a Tickford product on a non Tickford Ford or a HSV product on a non HSV Holden then the principle of your comment is that its ok for the Ford but not the Holden. What about NOS seat covers on a Honda, can they have NOS badges? Really does open up a very large can of worms. I say everyone do what you like to your own cars but dont be surprised if not everyone likes or accepts it.

Re: I just have to say...

Seems as though someone's a little Ticked off. :s6:

Is my car a Tickford? It doesn't have the compulsory badge on the bootlid for Tickford components.
