I just have to say...
To all you people who keep flaming others for having tickford badges on their cars, I would like to advise you all to shut the hell up.
Not only is it someones own prerogative to do whatever they feel like to their car, and for someone else to bag it out, it is morally wrong. You must admit that if someone bagged out something on your car, be it WHATEVER, you would not appreciate it. I, for one, would be pretty pissed off if someone paid out on my car for something I did because I like it.
Let's take a look at reasoning:
XR's got given Tickford badges because they had Tickford things on them correct? Regardless the fact that the car is sent from Ford to Tickford for its final workings - the concept behind it is to show that it has Tickford components on the vehicle.
If someone has modified their car with the use of a Tickford component, be it a Tickford snorkel, Tickford wheels, Tickford bodykit, Tickford WHATEVER it then gives that person the right to display a Tickford badge on their car. It follows the same principle of why your XR came with Tickford badges on it.
To sidetrack a little, just to clear something up, the other side of the road, HSV badges on a Holden is a different story. No SS, No Berlina, no whatever is ever sent to HSV to have final workings before being sold to the public (as far as I know) - and never has a Holden been sold by Holden with a HSV badge on it. Thus being a different scenario than Fords (XR's) with Tickford badging.
Therefore, next time you decide to bag someone out for using Tickford badges, rethink your own insecurity, which I can see in some of the people who time and time again bag out the use of Tickford badges on a vehicle that apparantly "isnt" Tickford, even though said car makes use of Tickford components.
It is absolutely stupid and unnecessary that you bag someone out for doing this.
Those cars who make use of Tickford badges while not making use of any Tickford component, thus rendering the car completely "Tickfordless" should re-think their use of said badges, though if it is in your interest to use them, then go ahead, make the legacy of Tickford proud by showing everyone you remember them.
