I'm having a rough idling issue with the the EL I picked up on Tuesday night, so I thought I'd change the plugs, leads and dizzy cap, and let me just say I will NEVER as long as I live change the leads on an i6 EL falcon... I have cuts all over my big fat hands, my back is killing me and the worst part is I have grease under my fingernails

The plugs took 15 minutes to change, and the rest of 2.5 hours was taken up getting the leads and dizzy cap changed...whoever thought it would be a great idea to put the distributor right under the plenum chamber and leave no room for hands should be taken out the back and shot F&^%ing DEAD!
The worst part is it didnt totally fix the problem, so I'm going to change the coil tomorrow....and I cant even SEE the stupid thing!

On the topic of the rough idle.... What is it doing?

Does the temp guage rise at all?

The EF at work was idling a bit rough, and smelling like shit, and it turned out to be just the thermostat. It was never reaching operating temp so there was always too much fuel being pumped into it and the CAT cant handle that much unburnt fuel. It smelt like the rotten egg smell when some cars accellerate.
