I showed GMH MD Barra brochure!!!
I know you will find this hard to believe and my wife think I'm a goose for doing this but here it is:
I spotted a new VY Calais heading into melb CBD from bayside where I live. At first I thought it was a "grey" import of a jap car.. .anyway two men in front seats and then I noticed the neat white trimmed moustache of the passenger... why it was the MD of Holden Mr H...I finally get into the lane beside the VY and pull out of my briefcase the Barra brochure I picked up from President Ford, Elsternwick, yesterday arvo. I wind down my window. open up the page to the Fairmont ghia side shot and show it to him, by the way I'm driving a VW Transpoter van so with my hands out the window my ford shot is nicely at eye level.. I give him the thumbs up for the F'ghia and point back to his car and duelly give a polite thumbs down. He didn't really do much but his driver gave a rye smile when he realised I wasn't a "pyscho" endangering his boss.
I know, I know you probably won't believe it but if anyone at Ford engineering asks if they know of this story my close insider will confirm it!!
p.s. I have to admit calais didn't look ugly but BA has a more classy exterior and the Ghia interior is to drool over from what I have seen!!
