On tuesday I almost bought an AU3 XR8. I was extreamly tempted to buy it. It was a manual Blueprint 3/02 model with 22k on the clock. It had the ford racing bodykit, momo stearing wheel and gearknob. All this for just about $37k (without rego or insurance).
There was only a few issues though. The first thing it was at an auction, so there was no guarantee I was going to get it at this price (although I'd say it wouldn't have gone too much higher). It was a repo previously owned by a guy in the army, who didn't seem to like the fact that his car was going to be reposesed (very bald rear tyres, ie down to the belts in places). So I had a few doubts about the it's condition, considering that I couldn't take the car for a test drive.
There was nothing else I could fault with the car though (apart from the bald rear tyres and close to illegal depth tread on the fronts). The engine ran smoothly and had a great exhaust note (as many XR8 owners know), the interior was pretty much spotless and I didn't see any damage to the paintwork.
All I can say is that I was very, very tempted

Oh well, I'll have to be patient and wait for the BAXR8 with its 260kws and 520nm
