Thumbs up I'd buy a diesel Ford

I've been doing a bit of looking around the car websites lately, and i've realized something, diesel engines really aren't being appreciated lately, there are a couple of trucks that run on it, and VW makes a couple of compacts, but overall it seems to be a largely untapped market, why doesn't somebody in the domestic market take a small risk and put a diesel in one of their cars, do a little advertising, and see what happens? Ford, i know you guys can do this, make it something a college student would want to buy.

They are doing just that. The next F-150 is supposed to have a V-6 diesel option, and the Jeeps are going to get a 4 cylinder diesel. They're coming.

Re: I'd buy a diesel Ford

Ford Europe has some diesels in it's lineup for the Focus and Mondeo so using these in other countries is going to be a winner.

The latest Focus is a great looking car and the turbo model in the petrol range looks like a winner.

Ford :: Focus :: Focus ST

Re: I'd buy a diesel Ford

Diesle is the next best thing, next to ford of course. VW 1.9 liter tdi engines are known to be able the handle 250 bhp and 330 lb. ft. at the wheels reliably. If i had the money ide put a diesel in my mustang. sure it woulnt go 180mph, but it would go to 110 faster than anything out there. What do you think? Is there a point where diesels wouldnt be cool?

Re: I'd buy a diesel Ford

Has the US moved to the low sulphur diesel? This was the major hold-up in introduction of modern Euro diesels here in Australia, once cleared we got pretty much everything on offer in Europe.
