I doubt that will happen, Holden wouldn't make such a jump in power figures again IMO, it would be asking for trouble, people are already starting to make noise about a 300kw GTS, if they have a 240kw executive it would increase the tension in the situation, if the exec ls1 gets a rise in power it would probably only be another 5kw or so, the executive is not a performance car, it is a base model entry, and it's suspension, braking etc is tuned that way.... That being said if holden see the need to keep ahead of BARRA outputs whatever they may be, they might make a big leap with power again, although I hope they are sensible about the situation

I don't think that they need any more than 200kW in the base model V8s, that applies to Falcon and Commodore. Obviously the Gen III is detuned enough, so Holden should leave it alone. If the Ford 5.4 produces around the same (220 kW mark) that would be fine. Then they can play around with higher power figures for the more sports oriented models (XR8, T-series...)

I wouldnt be supprised if HSV's VY model will be apowered by the same 275kw/530nm LS1 variant found in that boat they had.

On the same token I see the SS commodore to be put upto around 250kw. I couldnt imagine Holden upping the power of the base model. As it is a base model, they could now finally have it's power as base power, rather than beeing the same as the SS.

I also reckon Holden won't detune the Callaway donk. I predict as the 6.2L won't be out for a while, and HSV know that frod will release a 300+ kw car next year. So what I reckon will happen is Holden will just get the callaway enhanced CB4 motor with 450hp out of the box, without detuning it. This would probably work out cheaper than the 300kw donk, while fuel cnsumption and emissions won;t go that much up. Either that or holden will get LS6 donks befroe making thier own in Melbourne.

What internals have they changed on the 300kw CB4 engine?
