Just wondering, those of you in WA, have iiNet broadband and what you think of it?
I just upgraded from telstra's 512 plan to iiNets 1500 plan and while webpages might download quicker, files download a shite load slower. Before, with telstra, i managed to get 50k/s, but now i'm strugelling(curse that stupid word and its spelling) to get 25k/s.
Am i one unlucky bastard, or is it iiNet durin peak thats slow, or could it be that I'm too far away from them(exchange)??
So many questions... But the thing is right, that when i first start downloading, it will go at 130+k/s then slow right down to 25ish k/s

If you are not in the capital cities it is ALL telstra just with a different name.
No one else has rural infrastructure.
Even most of the city stuff is telstra as well.

Let him that hath understanding count the number of the BEAST:
for it is the number of a F6 Typhoon; and its number is 0217.
download one of the test files from ftp://ftp.ii.net/ , it will tell you if your connection is running at full speed or not. should be around 150kB/s if it isn't call them and tell them.
I downloaded a file from the ausgamers site, got about 40k/s, and it was slowly dropping aswell. I'll try the ftp site, and if thats still no good, then i'll give em a call and ask them about it.
I have it here in Melbourne too, and I don't have a problem.
Maybe you ahould give support a call, they might be able to help. You could also try this page, they often have a lot of answers for this kind of stuff.
I have ADSL and I connect at about 4000-7500kbps downstream nearly always when I'm not having any troubles with the wiring in my house (which is another story) but i only get around 30-25k/s when downloading from good sites because im only on a 256/128 plan. So it seems the speed is there, but my ISP doesnt want to give it to me
