Everything is in place for our drive to Rockhampton and the Gold Coast, The tv/dvd/ps2 system is in place for the wife and kids, the car is booked in to the Ford dealer in Biloela for its 3k service next monday, the motels are booked up and back and the car is at my Dealer today for tint, Herrod exhaust and to activate the cruise control or so I thought!!!
The exhaust won't arrive until next week, too late, we've left, but I can live with that, Now i'm told that Ford don't have a "code to activate" the Cruise Control, apparently they have one for six cyl dealer fit Cruise but not for the V8!! Can you imagine how hard it will be to keep to the speed limit on roads like the Newell Hwy etc, not to mention the amount of time my eyes will be on the speedo not on the road.
Like most on this Forum I bleed Ford blue but this is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FORD!!!!! @*&%^
Thats my bitch for today but I am still looking forward to the trip and it will be interesting to see how the beast performs, I will let you all know how it goes(might even be able to update from the Gold Coast)
sorry mate, you'll have to join the queue that's annoyed with Ford.
1stly, my car went in for its 3000km service. They fix the Body Control Module as a recall which requires both keys. Well they didn't tell me it required both keys and now one of my keys doesn't work. So i have to go back and get if fixed.
2ndly, I had a banging noise coming from the drivers side door when the window went up. They fixed it, but now i have a long scratch in my window tint.
3rdly. I travel over several speed humps on the way to work. Yesterday i went over one and lost all power to the dash for about 2 seconds. No lights, fuel, rpm... all went out.
not sure if i want any more services, thankyou very much.
You can program the Key yourself, just read in the manual. If the BA Manual doesnt tell you how to ill tell you how to, but dont go back near the dealer.

Do you know if this key issue is on all BA's?
I rang the dealer to thank him for his service, , and he told me it would take 40mins to reset the keys and car.
I would love to go via Melbourne but i can't get away from work any earlier and the exhaust has already bean paid for as part of my lease(including fitting).
What TV/DVD/PS2 system have you installed? As someone who makes regular interstate trips with the kids, I plan on optioning the REX system, but that's DVD only so interested to know what you have.
Cheers and enjoy the trip.

I can't for the life of me remember the brand but I bought it at a friends Autobarn store, It is designed to be hung from the back of a seat but thats no good with 3 kids so I hung it between the seats and that was fine until I discovered that my 4yr olds feet were is a perfect position to kick the Dvd unit into the front.(it comes in a case thing that opens up with the components in place) so what I have done is use a mounting bracket for the TV that comes with the unit and mounted the screen to the console lid and the DVD/PS2 can sit in the map pocket or under the seat(no I didn't drill any holes)
I had to get an adaptor to use the PS2 but it works fine. I won't tell you how much I paid but check your local Autobarn and you should be able to get one for under $800 dollars.
The reason I didn,t go for the REX was that the car is leased and I also wanted to be able to transfer it from car to car without any damage to either vehicle.
