Last night I went to the last Whoop Ass Wednesday (off street drags) at the Motorplex over here in the West and found a nice T3.
Now I've always loved the looks of the T3's, but this one was very nice in it's metallic blue paint, but what really impressed me was the times it was pulling - 13.4's. The owner also said it was stock besides the exhaust To really add salt to the wounds, there were two BA XR8 utes there doing 14.5's and an LS1Edited VX doing 13.8's.
Are these things really this quick? or has something else been done to this car that is being kept a secret?
At the drag day held during RAID 2 a T3 with (basically) exhaust only (and auto) ran a few mid 13's with relatively low mileage on a warmish day so the figures sound fair given that most Windsors give their best after 15-20k kms.
Thats definately a fast time for an exhausted T3, could be possible the guy might just be an awesome driver, but then again there are not many comparable times that match that so you never know he could be telling porkies.
Ive said it at least 10 times on FF and ill say it another 1000 times...the T3 TE/TS50s are the quickest falcon ford has ever produced...BETTER 1/4 mile time than GTHO, XR6T, and '03 GT.
Get it into your heads....now an AUIII with a 5.4L in it would fly...
It's fat bastard brother BA needs to lose some weight...If it isn't one thing its the other. Ford really needs to stop doing this lol. Take the worst bits of a previous model, fix them, then make something esle worse which in total sums up to be the same deal.

I just thought these things were good for low 14's, that's why it suprised me so much to see these times come up. I remember reading a Street Machine article awhile back about a comparo between a GTO and a T3, and if my memory is correct, the GTO was faster.
This then begs the question, if they only needed a new exhaust to get this type of power, why were they so underated by all the car mags when it came to power? surely a new exhaust wouldn't drop a second off their 1/4 mile times.

I heard it's the third fastest track in the world, don't know how true that is but Victor Bray can't say enough about it every month in Street Machine.
