Thumbs up Improving resale for Falcon - Special Paint Colours

Hey Geoff, All,

Here is an idea re improving the resale of the BA (and future) Falcons. (Well it is not a new idea. It is what Ford have done in the past...) It may not be practical due to plastics but here goes.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's any one with the $$ could order a new Falcon in any colour. E.g. The Brambles truck company. They ordered a bunch of Falcons in Brambles Red.. From what I understand Ford liked the coulor and the rest is history...

These days if you go to buy a X-R/T/W/Y/A/B GT Falcon of any description and the paint code is "Specxxx" on the ID tag I would suggest that the car is worth more that a car with a stock colour due to the rarity of the colour.

How about allowing prospective new owners being able (if they have the $$) to order a new XR or any falcon for that matter in any paint colour they like. Obviously the resale of the car would depend on someone liking the colour but I would not think that would be a problem.. (Take a XA GT in Mary Kay Pink -I have seen one ages ago. It would be worth more than a stock white one...).

I know the use of plastics for bumpers may be an issue to colour match the sheet metal. But.. How about it..??

Depending on $$ I would order one, in the interest of keeping the resale value up there... Just think.. A New BA XR in XA Burnt orange or XY Wild Violet or Copper Bronze....
Magic…

Hey Chevypower,
Isn't that Green a standard colour for just the Monaro?.

In my inital thread.. I ment that the colour could be a "NON standard colour from any part of the Ford range. Something completely different...

It would be an awesome idea if you could pick any colour you wanted. Very costly I imagine.

How about if Ford has there standard colours for most people and then a large colour chart of like 50 other colours for those who want something different. So you don't get to pick any colour at all but get to pick from a big list of 'bonus' colours for those interested. The only downside being it costs like $1000 more or whatever it is, and you have to wait like a month extra for your car. I would be in that. :s6:
