mad Indian Myna Birds

These things really get me worked up with their ability to harass my local native birds including kookaburras. I've spent countless hours knocking them off with my pellet gun but they seem to breed faster than I can handle.

Here's a good link if you have the same problem:

Good hunting!!!!!

I know many a car that has had those birds wedged in the radiator. Just have to pry it off before it gets a little cooked on.

Re: Indian Myna Birds

The best way to beat the pests is not by bullets its by a virus that spreads to males making them sterile. I think the same tactic is being experimented on cane toads in FNQ at the moment in the hope of bringing the numbers down if not completely out.

Re: Indian Myna Birds

damn right, they are an absolute pest, and make a shocking wracket! (sp)

I loved loading up my little pump action air rifle and letting them have it, and boy, even with 7,8 pumps, they'd need a couple of shots to take out.

It's quite amazing now, when i used to live in greensborough, i'd rarely hear kookaburra's etc, now i'm living in South Yarra, and it's great to hear kookaburra's, cockies and even seeing black cockatoos was a sight, couldn't believe it. Beautiful!
