ford custom

I did quite a bit of searching, but was unable to find some info I am looking for.

My Dad had a late 1970 Ford Custom. In your car model categories, there is no Custom listed, curious about that. Is this actually a Galaxie? It is a four door sedan about 22 feet long. I do not have a pic yet, but will be obtaining one sometime in the next week or so.

Also, is this forum only related to down under? I read several posts, and seemed there was a lot of reference to Aussie. I will be selling this car when I figure out exactly what I have...It would be quite a bit more proactive to try to sell it to someone in Denver Colorado however, as that is where I am. Please let me know if there is an America specific forum I should be posting in.

The car is a 1970 Ford Custom 4 door sedan. I can get the original owners manual. I will be able to get the clean title. I am reasonably sure it is a 305 V8. It is for sure an automatic transmission. I have been looking online for pictures, but cannot find any. I will eventually go take a pic myself and post, but this will take a few days.

The body is entirely straight and has never been in even a fender bender. It has always been garaged. My Dad bought the car new and was the only owner. He was quite meticulous about maintenance and upkeep, but has never put any high performance mods on it.

It currently has the battery removed, and has one tire that does not hold air well. Other than that, I believe it to be in acceptable driving condition. The car was driven lightly up until the year 2000 or so. I think it has less than 100,000 miles, but I am checking on that as well. I think we have two studded snows that will come with the car. Paint is pale yellow and original. Interior is original black vinyl, and is in fair condition.

The Ford Custom Range were base models and were the bottom of the range.If it is 22 feet long then I would say that you have a Custom model that is based on the Ford Galaxie series.If you can put a picture up then I'll be able to definately identify it for you.Also,this is an international Forum...it just happens to have many Australian users,and anybody from any Country is welcome here.if you can't organise a picture...then I can load some pictures of 1960's Ford Customs on here that I have from factory sales brochures if this will help?...regards,Luke!!

Thanks for the reply. I did find out that it is a 1970, but did not get any additional info yet. I should have access to the owners manual in a day or two, so no need to upload random cars in the off chance. It comes as no surprise that the Custom would be the econo class as it were. I will be able to find out what engine option it had, if there were any.

The reason for my research is that I would like to sell it for my Mom, and have nothing to base a number off of. Given the description above in the first post, would anyone have a guidline for an asking price?

Edit, got a bit more info. Is for sure a 1970 with 137,000 miles. Betting on 302 engine. Could have been 351, Dad had one other with 351 (was a Torino)

Now since I have some info, if anyone wants to move this to classifieds, that would be fine. Or, I will repost over there once I get a photo...
