8:00 AM, get in car, look in mirror and realise that someone cannot drive on the road and avoid parked cars, my drivers side mirror had been attacked by a passing car, I repaired the mirror and now it just has a scrape along it's side.
8:30 AM, park at shopping centre to meet newly ex girlfriend, (last night)
9:45 AM return to car to find again that some cannot park and negotiate other parked cars. Also trolley -> car impacts, the result, Gouge on passenger side rear bumper, 5 chips up passenger side, and scrape on front bumper, looks like a trolley was bounced/dragged up the side of my car.
The perpetrator had also come and gone in the period of time I was parked
I was FURIOUS. And the comment from girlfriend, "it's just a car honey. . ."
Bummer AUForte, I can understand your frustration. I park my XR so far away from anyone else it takes me ten minutes to get to the shops. Its worth it though not one mark on the car after 18 months.
Some gongbeating knobwarmer decided that the front end on my XR8 was missing a lovely big gash, and thusly backed his or her ute (I'm guessing) fair into it. This was in the carpark outside my old office! Well offstreet, and generally pretty quiet.
I can only hope that karma does exist, because there's a lot of payback coming to a lot of these kinds of people, and I think it'll be a genuine beeeatch!

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
what i notice is no matter how far away you park from other cars, some clown always parks next to you regardless if there are 10 free carparks in either direction of you. I have already had to fix up a paint chip in the door because people just don't give a shyte about other peoples cars. this really cheeses me off also! as they say NOT HAPPY JAN!!

Seen in Qld on holidays last year
Woman climbs in BMW
Woman puts BMW in reverse
Woman proceeds to reverse into the car behind her. Not subtley by the way
Woman dosnt give it a moments notice. Places car in gear, drives off.
XWGT notes rego number
XWGT places note on car that has been hits windscreen with said rego number.
At least 50 witnesses all give me a nasty look.
XWGT decides there all scumbags, and resolves never to take his car to QLD, and park it anywhere near a BMW

Are you sure you weren't in Vaucluse Sydney mate LOL??? Seems like (some) rich people have no respect for their or others vehicles. I have seen them park Audis, BMWs, Mercs, like they there driving a $500 Corolla.
Reverse park in a spot... BANG.... put in in drive... move forward.... BANG... whack it in reverse... BANG... and walk off on their merry way like nothing happened!
I also saw a woman put a new M3 into the gutter. Crunched the rim then walked off like nothing happened!! I wash in shock and to boot I copped a "WHAT A YOU LOOKING AT!!?" death stare... SOME people have WAYYYY to much money.

Well having said that, have also been on the receiving end.
My partner drives a BM, and returned home one day with the number plate crunched in, and the surround broken. Someone in her work car park had reversed into her car, and simply driven off.
I dont think it really relates to what sort of car you drive, I just think a lot of people have zero respect. I mean lets face it, $50 will get it fixed, its not the end of the world, but its just common courtesy to own up to it I would have thought.
People wonder why I dont let the GT out of my sight for a moment, but thats what its really about. I think its far more likely some dropkick will simply reverse into it than steal it. Sad but true

Dropkicks are everywhere. At the last car show I attended one of the members of my club had the steering wheel damaged on his XC Cobra WHILE THE CAR WAS ON DISPLAY!
I'd glady beat the crap out of the dickhead that did that. The car's worth more than his life will ever be.

EXACTLY ... just in my experience I have noticed it with expensive cars and owners who have way too much money (although it happens everywhere)... In the end it doesn't matter what car you own, just have respect for other peoples property. Alot of people actually work very hard to buy their pride and joy only to have some moron damage it.
What annoys me the most is that you're NEVER there when it hapens!!
