Question Insurance

Hi there,

Well, it's that time of the year again and my insurance is due. Has anyone had good experiences with insurance brokers?

My insurance is current with the RACWA, and is about $500 per months.

I am fairly sure that when I took out the policy is was just for a XR6 AUII VCT and doesn't include all the factory 'extras'. From my research recently, it appears that that's incorrect and that I need to specify the things like sunroof, brake kit etc etc.

Is that a fair statement? I increased the agreed value to cover the sale price, but I'm not sure where I stand. Comments?

Any recommendations welcome, particularly from other Perth drivers.

Cheers,

Simon....

No worries, am sniffing around. How's this for a laugh:

<quote>

"The quote could not be calculated due to the following errors

DirecDial is unable to offer insurance cover when the value of the accessories is more than 20% of the vehicle's value. <Huh?>

Because your vehicle is financed DirecDial can only offer comprehensive cover. " <Fair enough>

<quote off>

These are the 'non-standard accessories':

17" Alloy Wheels
Body Kit - F&R Spoilers, Side Skirts, Re (?? Truncated)
Leather Gear Knob
Leather Seats
Prem. drilled/vent brakes & multi-spot c (?? Truncated)
Premium Sound System
Sports Steering Wheel
Sunroof - Electric

More than 20% of the vehicles value????????????? Get real! I haven't done the sums, but surely not!

Anyway, remove all of the 'non-standard accessories' and it's $592 pa. Not bad!

Simon....

frown

The Premium brake kit pushes it over the limit, obviously :mad:

Without that, but with all the other (I seem to recall the brake kit was a couple of grand?), the premium is $687.

Anyone dealt with 'DirecDial'? It's a division of Allianz.

I might save the quote and email them to get it adjusted.

Well that is understandable then, 1,000 per year is not that bad, concidering what I pay for mine and it is worth a hell of a lot less im sure.

Insurance

Thats nothing, back in 1996 when I was living in the UK the cost of insuring a 1996 Ford Escort Cosworth (Lux) was ten thousand pounds sterling for six months & for six named drivers. The car was only worth twenty four thousand pounds. I'll never complain about insurance costs again.
