Just wanting to know what insurance you guys have got and how much you are paying and through whom.
Cos AAMI now don't want to have anything to do with me cos I have a sports exhaust and have lowered the thing.
Thanks
I just changed my insurance to just cars. $600 for third party fire and theft, a little pricey, but the upside is I am allowed to do ANY modification as long as it's legal, lowered, $10,000 stereo, turbo or super charged, whatever. I pay a little extra now coz I'm under 25, but hey beggers cant be choosers.
Im with RACV, rating one, costs me $51 per month, comprehensive cover. Thats with all of the mods listed in my signature. They have even said that I can fit a windsor to the NA and they will still cover it :)
ive got a 1968 XT V8, (which has just about every mod that the insurance companies hate), and when i went to get insurance, i phoned up 18 companies, but only 3 would give me insurance. AAMI offered me full comprehensive fo about $900 a year, with $800 excess. this was to insure it for a crappy market value of $1350!!!!
there was a classic car insurance company that offered me 3rd party/ fire & theft for about $500 a year to insure it for $4000, but i needed to get my car evaluated first (which i couldnt be bothered).
i ended up getting my insurance from Shannons, which is just ofer $300 a year for third party. they are pretty good, and let me know all the time about upcoming events and stuff like that.

Racq - The Racv equivelant. I have tons of mods to the car, to the effect that I needed another page to write it down. i don't usually go through the RACQ for insurance, but as the missus was already with them, it was cheap as. We pay around $750ish for two cars.

$1200 for a modded EL XR8 with FordInsure . . . 25yo max no claim
Think I was lucky though, I've think they have changed underwriters and are now much hasher
It just means I have to get a s/c before next years insurance to make paying justcars silly premiums worth it . . .
I HATE insurance time - cranky for weeks afterwards...
