Well, after many years of waiting and wanting I have finally got my hands on a XR. It's a 1998 AU XR6 - VCT. Unfortuantly when I went to insure it I was stunned at the cost! Over $800 a year in my suburb of Melbourne. And thats for it being in a locked garage at night! Considering I'm a Rating 1 and over 30 I just shook my head with disbelief. Please, anyone, can you tell us who you insure through and an estimate on the cost?

Be eternally thankful you don't live in Sydney. I currently pay $2600 rating 1 over 30. I'd be extatic if it cost $800. :/

i'd hate to think what my insurance bill would be. 24, rating 5, BA XR6 fully optioned.. eek! Luckily for me, it's all part of the package phew!

I have an AU Classic insured with ford Insure it has Extractors, Exhaust, Air filter told them its getting lowered and maybee 18's and im only paying $415. They know about all the mods Im 22 with a rating 1.

BTW Im with FORD INSURE

Sounds like a good price to me, I'd be happy with that. You would be lucky to insure a forte at that price in Sydney.

Yeap just been stuffed over by the insurance company here as of last friday. Payed $1704.00 + 5.00 in cheque to ford Insure "Thank You, Not".

Consider yourself very lucky to pay only $800 for an XR6.

I reckon i got a good deal through AAMI, $1030.00. Full comp, AU Series 3 TE50 2002, Paid $56990. I'm 33, rating 4 never claimed but never insured until last year with AMP for my EB XR8 Falcon which charged me $1200 for $13000, like i said never insured for 14years. AAMI did me a great deal for my TE50, if it gets stolen, or written off, they will replace for new or near new TE50, in the first 12months.

my car with its mods listed in the signature cost me a cool $4800 with 40% NCB with FORD INSURE!!! Cheapest deal I got... I've got a clean record without any drama's... no tickets, nothing! NRMA wanted $9000+ and Just car insurnace $6500...

Though my overall premium is higher, they gave me 40%NCB so its cheaper for now... will switch over once I get to 65%NCB to something cheaper... like Just CAr..
