hey,
ok i have a 1992 Ford Falcon EBII GLi sedan 6cly auto
and im trying to get it insurred at the moment with great difficulty.
ok well im 17 and will be currently insurring it under my parents name but next may i will turn 18 and will be the nominated driver.
my stereo im getting is about $1000 by the way and im getting 3rd party F & T
ok well my first option was AAMI... no need to go into that as everyone knows wat AAMI is like!
second option was RACV, they sounded great until i asked about mods and accessories, with my car being covered for only $4K she said on the phone that ALL mods and accessories would have to come under 1/3 of the cover price, which is $1333. OMG how can i possibly do anything to my car!
so my next option was just car
they said they will insure it no worries, and i can do ANY mods to the car i want, however they wont cover any accessories over about $500 as i only paid $1500 for the car, so in other words i could put a stereo and wheels on but they would not be covered
any sugestions?
thanks
Daniel :(

what they would mean is that in the event of a total loss, you will only get back the $1333 for your mods, it doesnt mean you can only do mods that equal to 1333.
use this example
if you were lucky enough to know someone in the trade, you could get a lot of mods done for 1333, yet on the other token, if you went to mechanics for work all the time 1333 would come around really fast!!!

are you 100% sure on that because what i thought was that if there is mods over $1333 they wont insure me at all

i could just go with Just Car and tell them i paid $3500 for the car and then i would be able to insure more for a stereo and wheels!!!

i really dont see how tehy could say you can have at the most $1333 worth of mods or else youre not covered. a set of rims could easily blow that out of the water. as can a big stereo.
or a leather retrim, or a body kit, or all of them
