I am trying to get my EF insured, but finding it a little dificult.
The car has extractors and 2.5" zorst, and is classified as modified so no one ewill touch me.
I've rang most people in the phone book, and the only quotes ive got were near $2k for full comp :( (didnt tell them about exhaust either)
And cant find someone who will give 3rd party fire& theft only for a car with mods and this value.
Who do u guys use, and what does it cost?
Im 18 and 10months old with one minor claim in my parents car a year ago. So if anyone is in the same boat, could u let us know what youve done.

2nd EF GLi, 'custom' interior, extractors, exhuast
3rd EA Fairmont 5spd, low'd, extractors, exhuast, head
work, 3.45LSD, EL dash, interior+ El ECU
4th EB2 Fairmont, EL dash and interior, BBM, LSD etc etc
5th EB Fairmont Ghia 5L. All leather, lowered, exhaust etc
I'm going with Ford insure as of the end of this year.
as far as i know they're fine with my car having 'basic' mods like exhaust, extractors, rims, lowered 30mm.
but not a whole lot more then that.
i think they're underwritten by SGIO or something like that, i'm 19, almost 20 with no claims and Ford insure want just over $1000.
i'm with AAMI atm, who won't allow anything and are charging $1800.

I am 20 and drive an EF Falcon. It has the full GT Bodykit on it and AAMI are insuring me for $1100/yr fully comprehensive. I am planning on getting a 2.5" exhaust and extractors, new stereo, 17" wheels and low profile tyres. I don't think AAMI will have any problems though even after that. Try "Just Car" insurance if you are having problems, they were even going to insure me with a EL XR6 for $3000/yr!
AAMI won't touch me if i do "ANY" performance mods simply because i'm under 25.
that rules out exhaust, lowering and all the rest.
the ONLY thing they allowed me to do was put rims on because it is only a 'cosmetic' mod.
dj_pom82: make sure the insurance company knows EVERYTHING about whats in your car, don't want any nasty suprises when it comes to making a claim.

I thought ford insure were pretty good with mods, but when i told them i had extractors and 2.5"zorst they said they wont insure me.
Probably coz im under 25, or what ever.
Have to keep looking

They are alright with allowing lowering, wheels, exhaust etc, but to a point. they have this 30 point modification thing before it goes to the underwriter. usually every mod has a 10 point allocation.
I pay approx $500 p/y. This is for a rating 2 driver (me). I was given a rating 2 status because my mrs had one. They gave me the benefit of the doubt.
