Ok i am currently insured with RACV for my BA XT. I want to change my company as RACV will not let me modify the car at all...So I called Just Car. NOPE they will not even give me a quote as the car has NO modifications and I haven't had my license cancelled....what a crock of crap....so with modifications i am damned if i do (RACV WILL KILL ME) and damned if i don't (OTHER WON'T INSURE ME)...The only mod i wanted to do is lower the suspension, and with that i wanted to be sure i can get insurance before i do it...but as i had no mods she wouldn't even help....I am really getting to the boiling point with insurance companies.....

You should give Ford Insure a try. I found them to be the best insurance company to insure my XR6 (was about $700 cheaper than anywhere else!). They have let me get away with some basic mods (exhaust and wheels) so I reckon as long as your car is still a legal height, they wouldn't mind.
just tell just cars it is lowered to get a quote then do it if you agree with their price.
You can even do it online if you like at their website.
I play with the just cars quote system all the time to see what cost I'm looking at for my planned mods.

Hmm... If you haven't done the mods yet, why insure with a mod company ?
I would insure with the racv or who-ever is cheapest until you are ready to mod. Then just ditch the old company and change to the new . . .
Most places (check tho) will refund you pro-rata for cancelled policies (tell em you sold the car or something).
Its what I did with mods, and again with the 25+ thing (royal sun alliance wouldn't reduce the price despite me turning 25 1 month into the policy, and refused to re-quote after my birthday since I was already a policy holder (!?). So after my birthday I cancelled (sod off and die scum bags) and joined fordinsure . . .
go with what u want for the future.
i'm with just cars and told them my car was lowered (technically by AAMI is not a mod) but i told just car it was so i'm insured by them and i can do any other mods i want.
