Vigil they are really good for modified & classic cars & I highly recomend them but I hav never had a claim with them so I don't know how they are when it really counts

AAMI - they're OK. We have had a claim with them in the past 12 months and they were really good to deal with. (and cheap premiums). Only problem is their policy on mods, but I'll just look elsewhere if I ever get the XR supercharged.

I went with Torque™ NO PROBS with mods as long as you let them know. Also gave me what I wanted for my car which was $4g more than NRMA + cheaper.

Everyone else laughed at me.. "Sorry we dont insure cars older than 20 years blah blah...."

A mate was insured via Vigil, he has one not at fault claim (another car backed into his whilst parked), he gave them all the info they asked.

Then they would not insure him again.

For heavily modified stuff you cant go past Just Car Insurance. For Classic/Vintage/Imported youcan try Unique Car Insurance (as long as its not in Sydney) or MB Insurance group. I am a broker so can get quotes throgh these companies if anyone is interested. Also try Shannons for classic cars.

Its a pitty they wont insure ppl in WA or NT.

I had a claim with SGIO, they werent too nice about it. But will prob go with them again as they are one of the only ones who allow mods oin WA, and they were the only one who gave me a NCB, also the cheapest. Its either them or Ford Insure atm.

Im 18yrs 11months with mods listed below. Was going to do alot more, but cant coz of ins. and its not worth the risk.

I also rang a Broker to find me some insurance, never heard from him again.
