Looking to use a different type such as ADSL or Cable as friends and relies are getting a little pissed off cause they can't get through.

ADSL will be here in Perth about 2 months time does anyone here have it or cable and is it better than the usual connection like Telstra claims?

ADSL is what you want. It is as good as they claim. Unfortunatley it is very pricey and you have a 300MB download limit. I think it is about $70 a month there abouts.

Telstra's adsl network is apparently riddled with faults and goes down regularly from what I have heard, it is also capped to 3gb of incoming and outgoing traffic per months for about $90/month.

Telstra's getting better, I found that most of the problems were with the crappy client software they supply you with. When I changed to XP and used the built in support, it was much more reliable, now it doesn's go down very often. My max download speed is about 55-60KB/sec, thats on a 512Mb connection
I think its around $90 per month with 3GB cap
