frown It's a Bloody Disaster

Well have been messing with the XR today, one thing I noticed was whenever I drive it I always see an ant or two cruising around, didnt think anymore of it really, anyway was polishing away with the passenger door open and i see about 6 of the little bastards coming and going from under the plastic cover, so i grab the screwdriver to see what they are up too under there and my car is a bloody nest, they are everywhere, all under the carpet, eggs everywhere, I am going to have to pull all the seats and carpet out and by stiring them up it just stinks like ants.

NOT IMPRESSED!!

holly crap!

why not get one of those bug bombs?
just put that in your car, will kill all of them ,and they will just die, dont bother cleaning it out, they will dry up, n turn into dust

It's as I thought, right through the car, about one third of the little (well bigger) ones have wings, must be the queens or something I quess., south I want then out and the smell is horrible.

hmm... What i'd do is strip the interior, all the seats etc, have them steam cleaned. Put the carpets in the wash, use fabric conditioner on them to dispose of the smell and give them a nice feel. Remove the A/C vents, plug em up with old socks or something and let off a bug-bomb. Then vacuum up the remains, wash the windows, wipe down the dash and trims etc, and youre set.

Thats assuming the little buggers arent in the actual ducting and in the doors..

PS while the carpets are in the wash, it might be an opportunity to install some noise deadening materials in the footwells..
