Im told at work today that you wont be able to buy any FPV stuff for your car unless you can supply a genuine build number for your car. That means no body add-on's, interior bits or badges etc.

What do you guys think?

will it protect the image of the brand that Ford are establising?

No other maker does this to my knowledge - not even AMG. It would deprive mere mortals from harmless steering wheel, etc upgrades for their XR8s and so on...

They won't even let you put a Clubsport wing on a Senator! Well that was the case back in 2000 when I was interested in a Senator.

I can see how they are trying to protect the individuality of the fpv cars. but i would like to see fpv designed kits to upgrade non fpv cars; pod filters/induction kits, exaust systems etc as there is quite a big market for it.

buying hot bits from ford for your ford.

Well they have the Havoc bodykit for Falcon now, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have something similar for BA.

We were told the same about Tickford remember - but that soon went out the window. Fact is, if there is a dollar to be made out of selling something they will do it - and to hell with customer loyalty or anything else.
