The wind of change has blown through my house, in the form of a job offer.

I'm currently 2ic at a Repco store earning a pittance for the amount of stress and responsibility that I endure everyday, so it was a very welcome offer because I was thinking of finding another job anyway.
The new job, which I *should* be starting at on the 3rd of December is as a truck driver, doing local and interstate.
The only problem I have (and the future employer knows this) is that I currently dont have a HC (heavy combination) license, I only have a HR (Heavy Rigid) license, but he has said that if I get my HC license he'll give me a job.
So I have just made a booking at the Yugo driving school to get my HR license on the 1st and 2nd of December.
I just wish I had some more driving experience using a Road Ranger gearbox because that's the only part of the course that I'm nervous about, I can drive semi's, but my experience with the RR box is limited.

Anyway, wish me luck, I'm gonna need it

All the best Heritage. My old man is a trucky and drove the ol road ranger gearboxes. He said with a little practise you will get it.

Yeah, I got my HR license using a roadranger, but I haven't used 1 for about 2 years, so it should be interesting.

Well, I pulled the pin at Repco last week (couldn't stand it any longer) and I went ans signed up with Allstaff, which is a temp hire company dealing with transport and wharehousing, later that day they rang and said I had a job driving a Coke truck @ more than $20 an hour, so I did that on Friday last week (14.5 hours :O)and I'm doing it again tomorrow for 12 hours, so with these 2 days work i'll end up with more cash than working a whole week at Repco.
Oh...if anybody saw a Coke truck in Toorak, or Armidale on Friday, along High street or the surrounding areas, it was me :)

Update....
I got my HC license today!
passed with a 93% score.
Start my new job tomorrow.
