It seems as if the fordforums.com gods have punished me for not attending their cruise on saturday, instead i had to work. Anyway on my way home from work i ran over something i did not see as i was changing lanes along ferntreegully rd and didnt think anything of it to i got in my car this morning and found i had a flat, SH@T! So i took it off had a look and could see no rips or punctures so took it down to a tyre place who tested it and found it had a 1cm gash on the inside wall. So anyway to cut it short the tyre was $260, 95% new, travelled only 2000km and now is irrepairable and i have to get a new one. Makes me want to get 14" steelies instead of 17's!
Yeah it looks as if it had been slashed by a knife its just a very clean cut only 1cm long but is apperently illegal to repair as its on the sidewall, maybe their was a little knife weilding gremlin sitting on the road waiting for me.
Just got my new tyre, the other tyre was rooted there was a heap of rubber which had been grated down into like a powder form which we found when we took it off as well as some very small metal fragments, rang around a few places and the differnce in prices for the tyre i wanted varied by nearly $100 $330 for a 17" tyre, no thanks
