Ford Motor Co.'s controversial CEO, Jacques Nasser, has been ousted and
will be replaced as chief executive by family heir William Clay Ford Jr.,
currently the automaker's non-executive chairman. A subject of increasing
rumors in recent weeks, the move is the latest in a series of shake-ups at
the troubled automaker, which has suffered a series of setbacks in recent
months. Closely placed sources reveal that along with Nasser, at least
two other senior officials will be let go: David Murphy, Ford's vice
president of human resources, and Jason Vines, vice president of corporate
communications. In turn, Ford is expected to name 57-year-old Nick
Scheele Chief Operating Officer.
Yeah I saw this on tonight's news, even though I think someone hinted on these pages a while ago that it was on the cards.
Like you said FM, one would hope that doesn't leave us with an uncertain future in regards to the up and coming, most promising models.
I would shudder to think of the new US orientated head honcho signing off a FWD car for Ford Aus.:crazy2:
Russell.
yup, that's it! just blame nasser! of course it's his fault USA is in a recession and firestone made some bodgy tyres! now that they have a scapegoat, the Ford family can take it all over again and make some more boring cars and become new toyota!
just when ford started making some exciting/good cars, like mondeo, thunderbird, focus, T series falcons, Barra, fourty nine concept, etc. they decided to remove the guy that signed off those cars!
GRRRR!!!!
it makes me so mad!
i just hope they don't touch Ford Aus too much, and that they aprove the raptor! if they don't, they have signed Ford's death warrant... without an AWD wagon, ford aus will die for sure.
Originally posted by Aussie Falcon I read somewhere that GP was meeting with Jac in Tokyo (at the motor show) to present to him Ford Australia's 5 year plan.
