Thumbs up John Anderson Federal Minister for Transport Is One of Us

In the latest Wheels Mag May 2003 John Anderson states he is challenging the states on their 'Speed Kills' strategy.

In the article we learn he drives a VY SS Commodore in Hothouse green (I don't care what you guys say, I think the VY SS Commo is a good thing (BA XR8 is better of course)). We also learn he is concerned with the fact that "a lot of law abiding citizens think a large part of the (Speed Kills) motive has to do with raising revenue".

Me thinks Johnny may get a third term in power....

Sounds good!

Question is, does he believe it, or is the man just popularity-hunting?

Email sent. If you're going to send an email guys, make sure that it's making informed points & not just gibbering on about this very important issue.

FM and/or AP - would you like to post a meaningful example (pro-forma, if you like) that we could all use? I don't think it would matter too much if he got 100 or 1000 e-mails all with the same wording, the important thing is that he would have 100 or 1000 e-mails showing our support for him !

I personally don't like providing a proforma or form letter. If you use constructive words that are reasonable he will take notice. He is after all representing ALL parts of society.

One point. Keep it short and sweet!

As far as I know John has never been a man that 'popularity-hunts'.

Good to see him raising this issue too, about time the fed's got heavy with the states.

Good news & I'll send something off as soon as I can construct something intelligent to say but what i want to know is what can he do for us seeing as these laws & penalties are state based can he have much of an influence on the state ministers & would it be possable to take the revenue away from state govts. & divided by the Federal govt. so they would be less interested in chasing it so vigourously
